Good evening from a very green and warm South Africa. Are you glad that the COVID travel restrictions are behind us? We are so happy and our volunteer numbers are going through the roof! Which is fantastic.
It is now time to build our Longterm Team again, and maybe you or someone you know might be perfect for the job? Food and accommodation is provided in return for your volunteer work.
Longterm Volunteer Roles Available;
General Sanctuary Assistants; 3 month, 6 month and 12 month positions available. Help with the everyday daily tasks; making bottles, cleaning enclosures, feeding the animals, supervising the nursery*, supervising bonding / integrations*, monitoring, making enrichment; anything which makes the centre's daily tasks get achieved to ensure high levels of welfare and professionalism.
Vet or Vet Nurses; minimum stay 1 month (but looking for 3, 6 and 12 month commitments)
Education and Outreach Coordinator; 12 month commitment for someone with an education background. You will coordinate the internal and external educaton and outreach. Of course, you can help with the baboons in your spare time.
Volunteer Host and Part-time cook; hosting the volunteers is a really important job; help them feel welcome, ensure they have the best time, organise games nights, host movie nights, host braiis (BBQ) and quizzes, take them to the picnic spot, the river, facilitate their CARE experience, help prepare them good food, assist with shopping and airport pick ups and drop offs and coordinate their excursions with those that are managing the excursions. Driving license is a must. 12 month position.
Social Media, Blog and Fundraising Coordinator; can be off-site, experience necessary. We can send you photos and videos and you can upload them and create campaigns and more.
